The 24th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24) will take place in Katowice, Poland, from December 3 to 14, 2018. Discussions will focus on the current status and the common rules for reviewing national climate contributions within the framework of the Talanoa Dialogue, with the rules outlined in the “Paris Rule Book” being of particular relevance to the business community.
Together with the BDI and ICC Germany, econsense is organizing two side events on behalf of the business community at COP24 in Katowice.
Side Event at the EU Pavilion on December 10, 2018, 3:30–4:30 p.m.: econsense supports the side event organized by the BDI, ICC Germany, and ActionAid at the EU Pavilion titled “Shifting the trillions: the role of finance and net GHG neutrality to tackle climate impacts.” Representatives from our member companies will discuss GHG neutrality and sustainable finance in the context of the 1.5 °C target.
Side event at the German Pavilion on December 11, 2018, 12:00–1:30 p.m.: Together with the BDI and ICC Germany, econsense has organized a side event at the German Pavilion. Under the theme “Smart Cities – How Innovations Accelerate Action in Cities and Regions,” we will discuss current trends in technology and infrastructure requirements for the transition to smart cities with econsense members Robert Bosch, Siemens, thyssenkrupp, and Volkswagen, as well as a city representative.
