DHL Group

Excellence. Simply Delivered. In a sustainable way.

As the world’s leading logistics company with almost 600,000 employees in over 220 countries, DHL Group has a special responsibility in the area of sustainability. Our purpose – connecting people, improving lives – reflects our understanding of sustainability, which is anchored throughout the Group along our strategic target dimensions of being an employer, provider and investment of choice
With our Sustainability Roadmap, we have strengthened and realigned our existing measures in the ESG area. The roadmap is guiding us in the three central areas of environment, social and governance. Clear goals have been set for each of these areas: We strive for environmentally friendly logistics, want to be the best employer for everyone and are committed to responsible corporate governance as a company and partner.
Green solutions for climate-friendly logistics: We have set ourselves the goal of reducing our emissions from 39 million tons in 2021 to less than 29 million tons in Scopes 1 to 3 by 2030, despite the expected further growth of our global logistics activities. The reduction target has been officially confirmed by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). A package of measures worth up to €7 billion to expand the use of sustainable technologies and fuels in our fleets and buildings is particularly important for achieving this target. In addition, we offer our customers an environmentally friendly product portfolio. We want to reduce GHG emissions to net zero by 2050.

Best employer for all: Our employees are our greatest asset. We take targeted measures to offer all employees a safe working environment. We want to attract competent and committed people, develop them continuously and retain them in the long term. To strengthen the motivation and commitment of our employees and keep it at a high level, we use diversity and inclusion concepts to create a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment.

Responsible corporate governance: Integral and legally impeccable conduct towards business partners, employees, the capital market and the public is the basis for sustainable business success. To ensure trustworthy, transparent and legally compliant business practices, we take appropriate measures that focus on training managers in compliance-relevant content, cyber security expertise, the expansion of sustainable and stable relationships with our business partners and the full integration of ESG key performance indicators into management processes and incentive systems.
We also make a positive social contribution to the world with our Go programs. With GoGreen (environmental protection), GoHelp (disaster management), GoTeach (improving employability) and GoTrade (promoting trade), we support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
