Directing Financial Flows Towards Sustainable Activities

Companies play an increasingly important role in protecting the climate and environment and in respecting human rights. To meet their obligations, companies need to understand the interactions of their business activities with nature and society. The transformation towards more sustainable business models also requires that more capital be made available for sustainable economic activities. Meaningful and comparable corporate sustainability information from companies is therefore a key prerequisite for the transformation.

Sustainable finance is a key lever for the shift towards a more sustainable economy. The topic is evolving rapidly, driven by investor demands as well as regulatory initiatives, such as the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) or the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). These regulations impose numerous reporting and disclosure requirements on financial and non-financial companies.
