About
The EU Taxonomy represents a major milestone in the classification of sustainable economic activities and is designed to help investors and companies make sustainable investment decisions. The EU’s goal is to channel capital into sustainable activities through greater transparency, thereby contributing to the achievement of the EU’s climate targets.
But does the taxonomy’s current design already have this effect? Or is there untapped potential to further strengthen the taxonomy?
In the discussion paper by econsense and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, we examine the initial implementation of the EU taxonomy by companies in Germany and address the following questions:
What are the taxonomy-compliant metrics for different sectors?
What challenges arose during implementation?
And what opportunities exist to further develop the taxonomy?
EnBW and econsense invite you to a discussion with practitioners, financial market participants, academia, civil society, and policymakers on the findings of the discussion paper. The event will take place on
June 2023 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at EnBW’s Berlin office.
In addition to the presentation of the paper and a panel discussion with users and stakeholders of the taxonomy, there will be ample time for questions and discussions to facilitate a lively exchange.
The authors of the paper are Sebastian Rink (Frankfurt School), Thomas Cauthorn, Julia Eckert, Prof. Dr. Christian Klein (all from the University of Kassel), and Jannis Arnold (econsense).
