In the afternoon of September 18, 2023, econsense and Mercedes-Benz Group AG invited to the "ecolution on Tour" event at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.

How can companies implement legal sustainability requirements in their supply chain management und strategically leverage them? What opportunities arise, and what challenges do companies face? These and other questions were at the center of the ecolution on Tour, hosted by econsense and Mercedes-Benz Group AG on September 18, 2023, in Stuttgart.

Sustainable supply chain management goes beyond mere risk mitigation and can help companies to optimize and manage their environmental and social impact along the entire supply chain. Target-oriented implementation of legal requirements, such as the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) through standardization and transparency along the supply chain, as well as the measurability of effectiveness, are of crucial importance. Through effective and sustainable supply chain management, companies can strengthen their resilience and their competitiveness and minimize negative impacts on the environment and society. Together with over 100 participants and distinguished speakers from business and civil society, we discussed this highly relevant topic at ecolution on Tour. The event was preceded by a guided tour of the museum.

The idea of the ecolution on Tour event series is to provide thought-provoking impulses and an exchange platform – always with a focus on the practical implementation of sustainability in companies. Our host for the second ecolution on Tour was econsense member Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Mercedes-Benz Group AG is one of the world’s most successful automotive companies. The company founders, Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz, made history by inventing the automobile in 1886. As a pioneer in automotive construction, it is Mercedes-Benz’s motivation and commitment to shape the future of mobility in a safe and sustainable way. The company’s focus therefore remains on innovative and green technologies as well as on safe and superior vehicles that both captivate and inspire. Mercedes-Benz continues to invest systematically in the development of efficient powertrains and sets the course for an all-electric future: The brand with the three-pointed star pursues the goal to go all-electric, where market conditions allow. Shifting from electric-first to electric-only, the world’s pre-eminent luxury car company is accelerating toward an emissions-free and software-driven future.
