Deutsche Telekom takes first place in oekom industry ranking for its ecological and social performance. In particular, the Group scored top marks in energy conservation and data privacy.

Climate protection, a focus on the customer, avoidance of electronic waste and a sustainable supply chain: These aspects helped Deutsche Telekom win first place in this year's "oekom Industry Report Telecommunications."

05/22/2014 | Deutsche Telekom: Donations for flood victims

Heavy rains have resulted in dramatic floods throughout many parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia. Deutsche Telekom donates 50,000 euros to Aktion Deutschland Hilft for emergency measures. Employees have set up donation lines.

The recent flooding was caused by the heaviest rainfalls in 120 years in large parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia. Whole towns and villages were flooded and many communities have been cut off from the outside world.

02/06/2014 | Deutsche Telekom sets Group-wide climate protection target

The Deutsche Telekom Board of Management has decided on an ambitious climate protection target. CO2 emissions are to be reduced by 20 percent across the Group by the year 2020. This means that the Group will reduce these emissions by around 430,000 tons of CO2 per year. This amount is equivalent to the emissions of about 1.1 billion passenger kilometers in air traffic, or about 28,000 flights around the world.

The software provider WeSustain and T-Systems are now offering companies a complete solution for sustainability management from the cloud. The software covers all areas of sustainability management and is provided by T-Systems from its own highly secure cloud data centers.

For the last 10 years, the Social Charter has defined DT’s ethically impeccable practices. Now some changes and amendments have been made and affirmed by the entire Board of Management.

A new partnership between Deutsche Telekom and technical inspection service TÜV Rheinland now helps companies to save energy. Telekom's role is to collect the consumption data, while TÜV Rheinland uses it to develop efficiency measures and establish an energy management system.
